DAN Expands Agri-Tourism Efforts with DRB Arabia and Fresh On Table for Rural Economic Growth in Saudi Arabia

DAN, a PIF-backed company that operates in agri, eco, and adventure tourism sectors, has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to show its commitment to developing agri-tourism and supporting sustainable agriculture and activating local communities in Saudi Arabia. The agreements, which were established during the third edition of the PIF Private Sector Forum 2026 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, establish a major advancement toward establishing effective partnerships that will drive economic development and create sustainable tourism frameworks for rural areas.

Collaborating for Sustainable Tourism and Community Empowerment

The first MoU was signed with DRB Arabia, a company known for developing luxury camps that offer a blend of adventure, comfort, and sustainable experiences. Under this agreement, DRB Arabia will operate and manage the Community Centre at Tuaja Al-Ahsa, a key location for tourism development. This collaboration aims to align the activities and events at the centre with the region’s cultural identity, enhancing the visitor experience while respecting the local heritage. The MoU also sets the stage for future collaborations between DRB Arabia and DAN, focused on expanding the impact of their initiatives across Saudi Arabia’s agri-tourism and eco-tourism sectors.

The second MoU was signed with Fresh On Table, an innovative agritech platform that promotes the farm-to-table model by connecting local farmers with the hospitality sector. By creating a technology-driven platform, the partnership will streamline the supply of fresh, high-quality produce from local farms to restaurants, hotels, and cafés, enhancing the local food supply chain. This collaboration aligns with DAN’s goals of fostering sustainable agricultural practices, empowering local farm owners, and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on sustainability and food security.

Driving Economic Growth Through Agri-Tourism and Innovation

DAN’s CEO, Abdulrahman Abaalkhail, highlighted the importance of partnerships as a core pillar of the company’s approach, creating value for communities and providing operational innovation across its agri-tourism models. These initiatives aim to empower local businesses, create opportunities for entrepreneurs, and advance scalable agritourism models that are deeply rooted in community development. Abaalkhail emphasized that both MoUs reflect DAN’s strategic direction to activate tourism in rural areas while ensuring that the benefits of these projects are felt by local communities.

As part of this vision, the collaboration with Fresh On Table is especially significant. Atul Chopra, CEO of Fresh On Table, noted that the partnership offers a unique opportunity to place farmers at the heart of the agricultural ecosystem, connecting them directly with the market demand from the hospitality industry. The platform will enhance supply chain efficiency, support local farming communities, and contribute to the economic growth of Saudi Arabia’s rural regions.

Expanding Opportunities for Local Communities

In addition to supporting local farms and tourism initiatives, these partnerships are expected to boost employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the areas surrounding Tuaja Al-Ahsa. The activation of the Community Centre will foster a deeper connection between visitors and the region’s cultural heritage, providing an enriching experience that reflects the authentic spirit of Saudi Arabia.

The collaboration with DRB Arabia will also contribute to the growth of the luxury eco-tourism sector, attracting both domestic and international travelers looking for sustainable travel experiences. These efforts are in line with Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism strategy, which seeks to diversify the country’s tourism offerings and position the Kingdom as a global leader in sustainable tourism.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Rural Economy Through Agri-Tourism

DAN’s signing of these MoUs marks a critical moment in the company’s journey to support Saudi Arabia’s rural economy through agri-tourism, innovation, and community engagement. By partnering with companies like DRB Arabia and Fresh On Table, DAN is creating new opportunities for local farmers, entrepreneurs, and communities, while also enhancing the visitor experience in rural areas. These initiatives contribute to Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy, promote sustainability, and empower local communities.

The growing agri-tourism industry needs these partnerships to develop Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector by delivering genuine sustainable experiences to visitors while preserving the Kingdom’s agricultural and cultural traditions.
