Explora Journeys Introduces Four-Month Ocean Expedition Offering Dubai to Miami and New York Extended Sailing Options

Explora Journeys is expanding into the long-haul luxury cruise segment with the launch of a four-month global voyage in 2029, giving travelers the choice to sail the full journey from Dubai to Barcelona or opt for extended routes from Dubai to Miami and Dubai to New York. The move reflects rising demand for immersive, slow-paced ocean travel, with the itinerary featuring 128 nights at sea, dozens of new ports for the brand and multiple overnight stays designed to deepen destination experiences.

The 128-night journey will depart from Dubai on January 6, 2029, and arrive in Barcelona on May 14, tracing a sweeping route across multiple continents. Travelers can commit to the full sailing or select one of two extended sectors: a 108-night passage from Dubai to Miami or a 112-night voyage from Dubai to New York City. These options provide flexibility while preserving the spirit of a grand, uninterrupted ocean expedition.

Sailing aboard Explora I, the company’s flagship vessel, the itinerary introduces 44 ports the brand has never previously visited. In addition, the schedule includes 12 overnight stays, allowing guests to experience certain cities after dark and explore at a more relaxed pace. This extended port access reflects a broader shift in luxury cruising, where depth of experience is increasingly valued over the number of destinations ticked off a list.

The journey, branded “Endless Worlds,” has been crafted around the idea of seamless exploration. Rather than presenting the cruise as a sequence of disconnected stops, the route is designed to unfold gradually, linking regions through cultural, historical and maritime connections. From the Middle East through transatlantic crossings and onward into Europe, the voyage aims to balance iconic ports with less-traveled coastal destinations.

Pricing places the cruise squarely within the ultra-luxury bracket. Fares for the complete 128-night sailing begin at approximately $90,000 per person, translating to around $703 per day. The Dubai to Miami segment starts at $79,800, while the Dubai to New York option is priced from $82,175 per guest. Although the total figures are significant, the daily cost aligns with comparable long-duration voyages offered by competing luxury lines.

The fare includes an extensive package of services intended to simplify long-term travel. International Business Class flights and private transfers are part of the booking, removing much of the logistical planning typically associated with multi-continent journeys. Onboard benefits include weekly laundry, a comprehensive medical support program and up to $1,000 in onboard credit per person. Guests will also have access to a series of curated destination experiences and exclusive events ashore created specifically for world cruise travelers.

Within the broader luxury cruise landscape, Explora Journeys’ pricing sits in the same range as other established operators. Regent Seven Seas Cruises is marketing a 140-day 2028 world voyage starting at $96,099 per person, averaging roughly $686 per day. Silversea’s 149-day global sailing begins at $111,800 per guest, or close to $797 per day. Seabourn’s 145-day roundtrip world cruise from Miami is priced from $85,594 per person, equating to approximately $590 per day. Each brand offers its own interpretation of inclusions, onboard atmosphere and itinerary design, but the overall market remains firmly positioned in the premium tier.

The launch of a world cruise is widely seen as a statement of maturity for a cruise line. These extended sailings tend to attract seasoned travelers who prioritize comfort, community and cultural immersion. Guests spend months onboard, forming social connections and developing routines that transform the ship into a temporary home. For many, the appeal lies in unpacking once while exploring dozens of destinations across the globe.

The timing also reflects sustained demand for long-form travel experiences. Affluent retirees, entrepreneurs and remote-working professionals continue to seek immersive journeys that combine convenience with discovery. Rather than assembling complex multi-country itineraries independently, world cruise guests can rely on a single, curated program that carries them across oceans with minimal logistical stress.

Explora Journeys is launching a four-month global voyage in 2029, allowing travelers to sail the full 128-night journey or choose extended routes from Dubai to Miami and New York. The new expedition responds to growing demand for immersive, long-duration luxury travel with deeper port experiences and overnight stays.

By unveiling its first global sailing, Explora Journeys signals confidence in its evolving fleet and brand identity. With new ports, extended stays and a comprehensive suite of inclusions, the 2029 departure represents both a commercial opportunity and a milestone in the line’s expansion. As bookings begin, the voyage underscores the enduring fascination with circumnavigating the globe by sea — a travel tradition that continues to adapt, innovate and captivate a new generation of luxury explorers.
