Luxury at New Heights: Wynn Al Marjan Island Confirmed for Preferred’s Legend Collection Ahead of 2027 Opening

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has confirmed that Wynn Al Marjan Island will join its exclusive Legend Collection, placing the landmark project among the world’s most distinguished luxury properties even before its doors open in Spring 2027. The move signals strong confidence in what is set to become one of the Middle East’s most ambitious hospitality ventures — a US$5.1 billion integrated resort rising along the coast of Ras Al Khaimah.

Less than 50 miles from Dubai International Airport, the development is positioned to capture both international jet-setters and regional travelers seeking a new kind of high-end escape. While Dubai has long dominated the luxury travel conversation in the Gulf, Ras Al Khaimah has steadily built its own identity, blending dramatic desert landscapes, rugged mountains, and pristine shoreline. Wynn Al Marjan Island is expected to accelerate that evolution, placing the emirate firmly on the global luxury tourism map.

The resort is being developed by Wynn Design & Development in partnership with Marjan LLC, the master developer behind Al Marjan Island. Together, they are transforming more than 60 hectares of reclaimed island land into a sweeping beachfront retreat that curves gracefully into the Arabian Gulf. The setting promises both spectacle and serenity — an arrival experience defined by open horizons, turquoise waters, and a striking architectural silhouette visible from miles away.

At the heart of the project stands a gleaming 70-story tower reaching 352 meters into the sky. Designed to shimmer against the Gulf coastline, the structure will house 1,530 guest accommodations, each crafted to maximize natural light and uninterrupted sea views. The design philosophy centers on spacious layouts, refined detailing, and a calm palette that mirrors the surrounding waters.

Within the uppermost floors, a boutique hotel concept known as Enclave will offer 313 suites tailored for travelers seeking heightened privacy and personalization. This elevated retreat promises a more intimate atmosphere, with exclusive services and bespoke touches aimed at delivering a distinctly curated stay. From private check-in to dedicated concierge support, Enclave is designed to function almost as a resort within a resort.

Dining will play a defining role in shaping the guest experience. Wynn Al Marjan Island plans to debut 22 restaurants and lounges, ranging from fine dining concepts led by globally acclaimed culinary talent to relaxed waterfront venues ideal for sunset gatherings. The diversity of options is expected to position the property as a culinary destination in its own right, drawing visitors beyond overnight guests.

Entertainment will also be central to the resort’s identity. A purpose-built theatre equipped with advanced production capabilities is expected to host large-scale performances, immersive shows, and cultural events. Combined with a vibrant beach club and a series of lively social spaces, the resort aims to blend relaxation with dynamic nightlife energy.

Wellness offerings will be equally expansive. A five-star spa featuring treatment suites, salon services, and comprehensive fitness facilities is planned to anchor the health and relaxation component of the resort. Multiple swimming and wading pools will provide varied environments — from tranquil adult-only areas to family-friendly spaces — while a 420-meter stretch of white-sand beach creates a seamless transition from resort grounds to open sea.

For guests arriving by water, a 98-berth deep-water marina will accommodate luxury yachts, adding another dimension to the island’s appeal. The marina reinforces the resort’s ambition to function not just as a hotel, but as a fully integrated lifestyle destination.

Events and celebrations are also set to become a major focus. Coral Court, a dedicated events and gatherings center, has been designed to host weddings, gala dinners, corporate meetings, and large-scale social occasions. With flexible indoor and outdoor venues, the space aims to attract regional and international event planners seeking a distinctive coastal backdrop.

By joining the Legend Collection, Wynn Al Marjan Island aligns itself with a portfolio recognized for culturally refined environments, exceptional service standards, and immersive guest experiences. Properties within this collection are selected for their individuality and ability to deliver memorable stays in remarkable destinations. Inclusion signals that the Ras Al Khaimah resort will be held to the highest global benchmarks of hospitality excellence.

Upon opening, guests will also gain access to I Prefer Hotel Rewards, the loyalty program operated by Preferred Hotels & Resorts. With more than six million members worldwide, the program allows travelers to earn points redeemable for cash-value reward certificates, elite status privileges, and additional benefits across more than 650 participating properties. Membership is complimentary, offering immediate value to guests who travel frequently within the luxury segment.

As construction progresses toward its 2027 debut, Wynn Al Marjan Island is shaping up to be a transformative project not only for Ras Al Khaimah but for the broader Middle Eastern tourism landscape. Combining architectural ambition, expansive leisure facilities, and global brand prestige, the resort aims to redefine what an integrated beachfront destination can offer — and to set a new standard for luxury experiences along the Arabian Gulf.
