P&O Cruises Makes Caribbean Sun-Seekers Swoon With Seamless Flight-To-Ship Experience

P&O Cruises announced its winter 2026-27 Caribbean fly-cruise season with new airline partners who will operate flights to Barbados and Antigua. UK holidaymakers will experience smoother travels from runway to rum punch at the airport. The popular Caribbean program offers travelers beach time and island-hopping together with convenient travel arrangements because TUI Airways and Norse Atlantic Airways and Virgin Atlantic have joined as partner airlines.

Barbados and Antigua at the heart of the programme

P&O Cruises’ Caribbean fly-cruises will once again be centred on Bridgetown, Barbados and St John’s, Antigua, with guests flown directly from the UK to join sailings on Arvia and Britannia between October 2026 and March 2027. The cruise line positions the region as a haven of white and golden sands, turquoise seas and laid‑back island life, with itineraries designed to maximise time ashore while removing many of the usual travel stresses.

All fly-cruise holidays include direct flights to Barbados as part of the package, with additional services into Antigua on selected departures, allowing guests to step off the aircraft and head straight towards the sunshine. Free transfers and bonded baggage mean most guests can bypass immigration queues in Barbados and be whisked to their ship while their luggage is delivered directly to their cabin.

Three-airline partnership confirmed

The winter 2026/27 season will be supported by three key airline partners: TUI Airways, Norse Atlantic Airways and Virgin Atlantic. The arrangement continues long‑standing collaborations and is intended to give guests more departure choices from across the UK while maintaining a consistent onboard flight experience.

Norse Atlantic Airways will operate Saturday flights from Manchester and London Gatwick to Antigua, alongside services to Barbados from London Gatwick, Manchester and selected regional airports including Cardiff, Glasgow and Newcastle on certain dates. TUI Airways will fly on Fridays and Saturdays to Barbados from London Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, supplemented by additional regional departures from Belfast, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow and Newcastle.

Virgin Atlantic will provide a dedicated Airbus A330 whole-plane charter from Manchester to Barbados every 14 days, specifically serving Arvia guests joining Friday sailings. Together, the partners are intended to offer a spread of regional options so guests can start their Caribbean journey closer to home.

Flight comfort and cabin options

For the long flight across the Atlantic, both TUI Airways and Norse Atlantic plan to deploy modern Boeing 787 Dreamliners configured with economy and premium economy cabins on the Caribbean routes. Virgin Atlantic’s A330 charter will feature three cabin classes, including an Upper Class offering on selected services.

All passengers on these fly-cruise packages will receive at least economy or premium economy seating as standard, with the opportunity to purchase upgrades for extra space and comfort where available. The airline partnership page on P&O Cruises’ site highlights that guests can choose to enhance their journey with upgrades on selected carriers if they wish to tailor the experience to their travel style.

Luggage, meals and in‑flight perks

The service package has been designed to feel more like the start of a holiday than a simple point‑to‑point flight. Guests benefit from a generous luggage allowance that typically includes one checked bag of up to 23kg in economy, with higher allowances in premium cabins and two 23kg bags in Virgin Atlantic Upper Class, plus 10kg hand baggage for all travellers.

Onboard, all cabin classes include in‑flight entertainment and a complimentary food and drinks service, with main meals served and, depending on flight times, a lighter second meal on selected services. Complimentary pre‑meal drinks and bottled water are included, designed to keep guests comfortable on the nine‑hour journey to the Caribbean. Bonded baggage arrangements mean that once bags are checked in at the UK airport, they are typically not seen again until they arrive safely at the guest’s cabin door.

A seamless start to a Caribbean holiday

P&O Cruises frames its Caribbean fly-cruises as holidays where the beach, not the airport, is the main event, with the new airline line‑up intended to support that promise. The cruise line stresses that fly‑cruise guests effectively begin their holiday at the airport, with the combination of regional departures, modern aircraft and inclusive services aimed at delivering a calm, convenient start to their time in Barbados, Antigua and the wider Caribbean.

Company president Paul Ludlow has previously underlined that high‑quality flights are an important part of the overall experience, noting that continuing relationships with TUI, Norse Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic help ensure a familiar standard of comfort and care from take‑off onwards. The reinforced air network enables UK travellers with palm-fringed bay and volcanic hot spring and Barbados beach access dreams to reach their destinations faster from their grey morning homes to their sundowner experiences on deck.
